I love collecting arty bits and pieces .. well within my limited budget that is. I also enjoy renovating and landscaping our mid-century home with Ray.

Over the past few weeks we have added a few bits to everything … renovations, art collection and landscaping – so here are a few pics from around the house.

Happy Saturday coffee!

New art about the house

I purchased a FinDac limited edition print, then we decided two would look better.

Plus another piece joined the glass collection which has just moved to the mantle – a 1970s Buderim Glass goblet. Things are looking rather eclectic ranging from a Deco lamp and bronze, a mid-century home and art dating between the 70s to now. Not to mention my own creations, a beaded cocoon and sculptured head below.

Loving the lounge room

Still a bit to do but we have gradually relocated furniture around after wall mounting the TV. It has opened up the window space  a lot and ideally we hope to find a single black Sigurd Ressell Falcon chair, an affordable art rug and I am making my own coffee table using deer antlers!

The atmosphere is relaxing and airy .. I love it!

New fireplace

Finally the old gas Vulcan has gone and a new gas-log fireplace has been set into the original chimney. It is yet to be fired up and still requires new tiles for the hearth. We are thinking of changing the mantle to a piece of red-gum timber.

Always loving my office

I just need an old turtle shell or taxidermy crow for that final spot on the wall. The original timber walls in this room really support a very unique mix of objects.

More around the garden

This has been a duo effort with me creating the new stone wall seating and ray finding these old cast iron seat legs and creating an new chair using iron bark. A few more sleepers, pebbles and sand and it wont be long before the new garden is ready to use with friends.

About to join the additions is the new side gate to keep the dogs off the patio. You can see Chugga peering at Ray’s handy-work.

Seee … ALWAYS THE ARTIST!!
