While creating designs for the ArTTable, I was asked one year to be gust artist at the Melbourne Craft Expo along with a beading  partner of mine at the time Leeza Silverman. For 3 days we sat beading a vase as part of my series ‘Sharing My Backyard’, there was no grand plan or design for the vase however it slowly evolved as we filled it with a collection of new beading techniques and experimental sessions.

Having two artists together bouncing their creative energy along is a wonderful catalyst for creating something new and the snail-set technique was born. It was an instant hit at the show with plenty of curiosity; eventually it led to being featured in Creative Beading magazine on the front cover and into jewellery kits sold by the ArTTable.

I went on and made a couple of more jewellery designs using this technique and still wear a ring I made and have the same keychain over 7 years later. I hope you enjoy the basic pattern I have attached and the snail-set gallery below.
