At times a specific subject matter holds your fascination. An artist often finds a deep interest in a particular object’s beauty or oddity, its shape and personality or it’s magnificent colors.
And when motivated, “the artist seeks to excel in capturing that fleeting moment of inspiration in their artwork.”
Today is a glimpse into the fascination of frogs for artists. It seems the humble frog adorns garden art, public spaces and glistens when made in made in glass or jewels. Not only their colors, but the personalities of a frog can be captured so they render the viewer with a memory from moments in their past.
Jewelry, carvings, paintings, drawings, cartoons, furniture, modern art, vintage art .. there is something for everyone in the land of frogs.
Even outrage which followed German artist Martin Kippenberger when the Bolzano museum of modern art in Italy acquired a sculpture of a frog on the cross from the late artist.
